Drive our lives day to day

When I meet my maker

Would my success, a role play?

Have I given the best to my daughter?

To live with strength and courage

Not riches, not worldly possessions 

But love, values and knowledge

Have I given the best to my parents?

And to all those who made me who I am today?

Have I spent with them the time they deserve?

Or have I chosen selfishly, to live life my own way?

For when I take my last breath

I take not my possessions

Not the people who touched my life

Not the daughter whom I raised

But I would hope, I left a small mark

Made a difference to those close to my heart

In them too, kindled a spark

To be more human to the last
